Rattlers Program Guide

WELCOME TO THE RATTLERS

The Rattlers Program Guide is your resource for everything you need to know about participating with the Sin City Rattlers, including season structure, roster placement, tournaments, practices, pricing, and program expectations.

The Sin City Rattlers are a developmental and competitive hockey program operated by Resolute Athletic Initiative, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities for players to develop, compete, and experience tournament hockey while keeping the program accessible, affordable, and family-focused.

WHO CAN PLAY?

The Rattlers are open to players within our offered age divisions who are looking for opportunities to develop their game, compete in tournament hockey, and be part of a positive, team-focused environment.

Players should have prior organized hockey experience and be able to safely participate at the appropriate age level. Prior tournament or travel hockey experience is not required.

WHEN WE PLAY

The Sin City Rattlers primarily operate during the Spring/Summer hockey season, with practices and tournament play generally running from March through July.

Specific dates and tournament schedules vary by season and will be communicated through Crossbar.

HOW ROSTER PLACEMENT WORKS

Completing the free registration does not guarantee placement on a Sin City Rattlers roster. Registrations are reviewed by our coaching staff to ensure appropriate team placement and roster availability.

Players selected for a roster spot will receive an official paid offer through Crossbar. A roster spot is secured once the offer is accepted and the required payment or payment plan is completed.

TOURNAMENTS & GAMES

The Sin City Rattlers plan to compete in five tournaments throughout the Spring/Summer season. Most events guarantee a minimum of four games, with additional games possible based on tournament format and team advancement.

Tournament schedules are typically released 7–10 days before each event and will be added to Crossbar once available.

Select players may also be invited to participate in an optional sixth tournament as part of the Rattlers All-Star team. The All-Star event is invitation-only, requires a separate commitment and fee, and is not included in the regular five-tournament season.

PRACTICES

One team practice will typically be scheduled in preparation for each tournament, for five included practices during the full season.

Local practices are primarily held at City National Arena (CNA), with other Las Vegas-area rinks used as ice availability requires. For out-of-state tournaments, we aim to practice at the tournament rink the evening before play begins when possible. If ice is unavailable, practice may be held at another nearby facility or in Las Vegas in the days leading up to the tournament.

OUR COMPETITIVE PHILOSOPHY

The Sin City Rattlers are a developmental and competitive hockey program. Our goal is to provide players with meaningful opportunities to develop, contribute, compete, and succeed as a team.

While our coaches strive to provide appropriate opportunities for every player, equal playing time is not guaranteed. Playing time, line combinations, positions, special-teams assignments, goaltender usage, and other game decisions are determined by the coaching staff based on factors including attendance, effort, attitude, development, performance, team needs, opponent, and game situation.

During competitive situations—including close games, elimination games, playoffs, and championship games—coaches may adjust player usage or shorten the bench to give the team the best opportunity to compete and win.

ATTENDANCE

Players should arrive at least 30 minutes before practices and at least one hour before scheduled games and scrimmages, unless otherwise communicated by the coaching staff.

Families should communicate known absences or conflicts as early as possible.

COMMUNICATION

Crossbar will be the primary platform for team scheduling, availability, tournament information, and team-specific communication. Families are responsible for maintaining current contact information, enabling appropriate notifications, and monitoring Crossbar for schedule changes and tournament updates.

Our Discord community will remain active for organization-wide announcements, general Rattlers communication, and community discussion. Crossbar will be the primary source for official team schedules and tournament-specific communication.

INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Full-season players receive priority for roster spots. Individual tournament opportunities may be available based on roster needs and availability and are generally offered when the coaching staff is looking to fill a specific opening.

Individual tournament participation does not guarantee placement in future Rattlers events or seasons.
